               5: Urban legends stories

1.  Nuckelavee

If I am writing these few words, it is because today is my last day among the living.

The faint light just illuminates my desk and my rifle beside me. I know what I'm doing, it's the only solution. Alcohol is not enough to make this nightmare go away, it just stinks in my house.

Every night for weeks I have been seeing myself there. I see myself in my fishing boat with my three friends. There was no storm forecast and the sun was a companion.

Usually, we stayed close to the shore but this time we got away from it. No fish wanted to bite though, these waters are famous for their large number of animals. The calm was master in these places but strangely enough, we were tense.

After a few hours, the water became murky under our boat. We didn't know what it was but we thought there was something there. We looked at each other in turn trying to figure it out. Just thinking about it makes me shiver.

Our boat was rocking right and left until Paul fell. He coughed his head up and when he got close to the boat he was caught in the water. They shouted and when he came back his face was bleeding. He screamed in terror, shouting that something was there.

I grabbed him by the hand to pull him towards me but he didn't move and screamed. I can still feel the shivers when I think about what happened next. It was so frightening that it was hard for me to go on, shaking and shedding a few tears.

When I pulled my friend out of the water, only his trunk came out letting the water turn red behind him. Something ripped his body out of my hands. With nothing more we could do, we set off to return to dry land.

We thought we had sown this thing but unfortunately, it came back to shore after us...

This thing so horrible that it gives me nightmares, this thing that forced me to keep my eyes open for days to avoid thinking about it again.

The fatigue still forced me to sleep but each time I woke up in a sweaty scream of terror. Each time I was afraid to see her walk through my door, afraid that when I turned on the lamp it would be there. As soon as I was awake I couldn't sleep.

This thing is made only of flesh and yellowish veins without skin. This thing made of a trunk over a horse with a horrible head. This thing whose arms touch the ground and whose one eye is terrifying. This thing that poisons you with its breath.

When I saw it, Mick and I were paralysed. I am still trembling and my heart seems to want to come out of my chest like it did on that horrible day.

I still remember how that hideous thing released a poisonous breath as it neighed. Mick found himself coughing and falling in a tranny and screaming before his flesh decomposed. I had time to run away but I had to leave my friend in the hands of this abomination.

Now I can no longer stay alive, I want to leave this world. I can no longer sleep, I live in fear, fatigue and alcoholism. Sometimes I feel that he is looking for me. I constantly leave my shutters closed for fear of seeing him through the window, when I leave a room I check that every door is properly closed.

As I hear neighing approaching, I finish my letter. All I have to do is grab my gun and leave forever...

I tremble as I glance at my rifle as the steps creak. It is the ball in my belly that I will seize it, shedding my last tears I will die.

He scratches at the door! It itches!

2.   Sadako

Sadako Yamamura is the ghost girl from "The ring" movies who appears in a cursed videotape. Her story was based on a real girl named Sadako who was a psychic and lived in Japan in the early 1900s. Her psychic ability was that she was able to project words and images onto film.

When Sadako was a young girl, she was very melancholy and depressed. She seldom spoke and never played with other children. Spending all of her time alone.

Sadako's mother was a psychic and she conducted several experiments with a psychic researcher named Dr Fukurai. When the doctor published the results of his experiments, other scientists accused Sadako's mother of being a fraud and said she faked her psychic abilities.

Sadako's mother was so distraught by all the criticism that she committed suicide.

Sadako was devastated by her mother's death and lived with her father on a remote island. As she grew older, she began to develop powers of her own. When her father learned of her psychic powers, he brought her to Dr Fukurai in Tokyo.

The doctor forced Sadako to participate in many experiments that involved using her mind to make words and imaged appear on photographic film. In Japan, they call this "Nansha" which means thought-photography or Thoughtography. Sadako produced a number of these "thoughtographs" and nobody could explain how it was done.

Dr Fukurai wanted to publish another book, but remembering what had happened to her mother, Sadako refused. She told him she was going to leave and would never return.

Nobody knows for sure what happened after that. Some people believe that the doctor murdered Sadako. They say he lured her out to the woods near the hospital and strangled her. Then, he threw her body down a nearby well and sealed it with large rocks to keep her hidden forever.

However, Sadako was not dead. When she woke up, she was trapped in the well and couldn't get out. She attempted to escape by scaling the walls but failed every time, breaking off her nails and fingertips in the process.

The poor girl survived in the well for seven days before she finally died with a heart full of hate. With her last breath, she vowed to have her revenge on the world.

Sadako's rage and terror and how she died combined with her psychic powers to create a terrible curse or "grudge". This resulted in a series of inexplicable images being projected onto a mysterious unmarked videotape.

Sadako appears in the videotape as a shadowy young woman dressed in a white gown. Her face is covered with long black hair. They say that if you watch the video, you will die in seven days.

The only way to avoid the curse is to make a copy of the videotape and give it to somebody else...

3.  The Rake

During the summer of 2003, events in the northeastern United States involving a strange, humanlike creature sparked brief local media interest before an apparent blackout was enacted. Little or no information was left intact, as most online and written accounts of the creature were mysteriously destroyed.

Primarily focused in rural New York state, self-proclaimed witnesses told stories of their encounters with a creature of unknown origin. Emotions ranged from extremely traumatic levels of fright and discomfort toooooo an almost childlike sense of playfulness and curiosity. While their published versions are no longer on record, the memories remained powerful. Several of the involved parties began looking for answers that year.

In early 2006, the collaboration had accumulated nearly two dozen documents dating between the 12th century and present day, spanning 4 continents. In almost all cases, the stories were identical. I’ve been in contact with a member of this group and was able to get some excerpts from their upcoming book.

The Rake

A Suicide Note: 1964

As I prepare to take my life, I feel it necessary to assuage any guilt or pain I have introduced through this act. It is not the fault of anyone other than him. For once I awoke and felt his presence. And once I awoke and saw his form. Once again I awoke and heard his voice, and looked into his eyes. I cannot sleep without fear of what I might next awake to experience. I cannot ever wake. Goodbye.

Found in the same wooden box were two empty envelopes addressed to William and Rose, and one loose personal letter with no envelope.

‘Dearest Linnie,

I have prayed for you. He spoke your name.’

A Journal Entry (translated from Spanish): 1880

I have experienced the greatest terror. I have experienced the greatest terror. I have experienced the greatest terror. I see his eyes when I close mine. They are hollow. Black. They saw me and pierced me. His wet hand. I will not sleep. His voice (unintelligible text).

A Mariner’s Log: 1691

He came to me in my sleep. From the foot of my bed, I felt a sensation. He took everything. We must return to England. We shall not return here again at the request of the Rake.

From a Witness: 2006

Three years ago, I had just returned from a trip from Niagara Falls with my family for the 4th of July. We were all very exhausted after a long day of driving, so my husband and I put the kids right to bed and called it a night.

At about 4 am, I woke up thinking my husband had gotten up to use the restroom. I used the moment to steal back the sheets, only to wake him in the process. I apologized and told him I thought he got out of bed. When he turned to face me, he gasped and pulled his feet up from the end of the bed so quickly his knee almost knocked me out of the bed. He then grabbed me and said nothing.

After adjusting to the dark for a half-second, I was able to see what caused the strange reaction. At the foot of the bed, sitting and facing away from us, there was what appeared to be a naked man or a large hairless dog of some sort. Its body position was disturbing and unnatural as if it had been hit by a car or something. For some reason, I was not instantly frightened by it, but more concerned as to its condition. At this point, I was somewhat under the assumption that we were supposed to help him.

My husband was peering over his arm and knee, tucked into the fetal position, occasionally glancing at me before returning to the creature.

In a flurry of motion, the creature scrambled around the side of the bed and then crawled quickly in a flailing sort of motion right along the bed until it was less than a foot from my husband’s face. The creature was completely silent for about 30 seconds (or probably closer to 5, it just seemed like a while) just looking at my husband. The creature then placed its hand on his knee and ran into the hallway, leading to the kids’ rooms.

I screamed and ran for the lightswitch, planning to stop him before he hurt my children. When I got to the hallway, the light from the bedroom was enough to see it crouching and hands over about 20 feet away. He turned around and look directly at me in blood I flipped the switch on the wall and saw my daughter Clara.

The creature ran down the stairs while my husband and I rushed to help our daughter. She was very badly injured and spoke only once more in her short life. She said, "he is the rake". My husband drove his car into a lake that night comer while brushing our daughter to the hospital. He did not survive. Being small-town news got around pretty quickly. The police were helpful at first and the local newspaper took a lot of interest as well however the story was never published and the local television news never followed up either.

For several months my son Justin and I stayed in a hotel near my parent's house. After we decided to return home, I began looking for answers myself. I eventually located a man in the next town over who had a similar story. We got in contact and began talking about our experiences. He knew of two other people in New York who had seen the creature we now referred to as the rake. It took the four of us about two solid years of hunting on the internet and writing letters to come up with a small collection of what we believe to be accounts of the rake. None of them gives any details, history of follow-up. One journal had an entry involving the creature in its first three pages and never mentioned it again. a ship's log explains nothing of the encounter saying only that they were told to live by the rake that was the last entry in the log.

There were however many instances where the creatures visit was one of a series of visits with the same person. Multiple people also mentioned being spoken to my daughter included. This lets us wonder if they had visited any of us before our last encounter. I set up a digital recorder near my bed and left it running all night every night for 2 weeks I would tediously scan through the sounds of me rolling around in my bed each day when I woke up. by the end of the second week, I have quite used the vocational sound of sleep while blurring through the recording at 8 times the normal speed. (This still took almost and her everyday)on the first day of the third week, I thought I had something different. What I found was it long enough to even begin to transcribe it. I haven't read anyone listens to it yet. All I know is that I have heard it before and I now believe that it pork when it was sitting in front of my husband. I don't remember hearing anything at the time but for some reason, the voice on the record immediately brings me back to that moment. The thoughts that must have gone through my daughter's head make me very upset. I have not seen the rake sincere ruin my life but I know that he has been in my room while I slept. I know and feared that one night I will wake up to see him staring at me.

4.  Drako King Darrius

The Dragonriders had a king once. A man by the name of Lazaro, he started the Dragonier Empire and the first to live among dragons. He ran his Empire though example rarely ever using force ruling the Fire Age with balance and peace, but his peace and unity didn't last long. Eventually, a usurper came to light. His name, Darrius. And in his wake, came destruction.

Darrius destroyed everyone and everything that stood in his way and eventually faced off with Lazaro, the fight was short but it shook the whole of Europe and destroyed the Dragonier Empire. The aftermath of the fight most of the location mostly desert and sand, Turkey had a lot more green before their fight.

But Darrius won and became the current Draco King, but luckily the Dragoniers that remain don't follow him, they instead follow Ruvik or Violet but that doesn't change that Darruis has allies. 24 allies to be exact, and together all 25 of them make up The Secret World Gov. If you think the Illuminati or Nexus ran the world, then your way off.

There are powers in this multiverse we can't deal with and Darrius is one of them. How do you kill someone when said person can control the very physics of reality. We aren't talking about a reality bender, not some angry god or even higher power, we are talking about a Dragonair who can alter physics at will with no limits to his power.

However recently in 2016 Lazaro made a comeback. A reincarnation by the name of Marcus Right, and right now Ruvik and Violet are seeing his reincarnation as a somewhat second coming. We at Nexus have begun taking tabs on Marcus but so far we are staying out of this only getting involved in this situation becomes a Zed K event.

Nexus will also reframe from providing info to either side as we like to keep our operatives away from The Secret World Gov and to involve someone in a fight they have no part in seems counterproductive. This is one we'll watch from the sideline not taking sides when push comes to shove. But all we can hope is that hopefully, M  arcus puts an end to the Drako Kings Madness and his Coalition of 25 as well.

And as of right now Darruis is the most dangerous person on the Nexus Watch List.  But like I said we're going to sit this one out until shit hits the fan. But luckily one entity can tell us something about him.

According to Being X however, Darrius is untouchable with 235 abilities at his disposal capable of using up to 7 of them at a time. I would hate to meet the poor bastard who has to face him, especially since destiny has it that the one who kills him, has to fight him 1v1 on his ground. An uphill battle, if you ask me. Especially since he's the only entity to exist that can use more than 3 abilities at a time.

5.  Tick

I never really believed in Mythology, to begin with. it was...something I wanted to see for myself, of course, but I knew it wouldn't be true. Comforting, but also disappointing.

I knew that going into the woods at 6 in the afternoon would be a bad idea, but would I turn down an invite to a campout? of course not.

so here I was, making my way through this sketchy forest at the beginning of sundown.

told to follow the path, I did as well as I could, but by the time I was deeper in the forest, it was already getting dark. there wasn't much to be heard, not even a bird, or a cricket, nothing. only the crack of leaves beneath my foot, which was barely enough to break the deafening silence that filled the forest.

When it was getting seriously dark out, I grabbed a flashlight I brought along, as a way of getting around.

Some signs warned me about bears, snakes, coyotes, but not about what was about to happen.

I found something, at last, which seemed to be a campfire and a couple of tents. as soon as I approached, the stomach-turning smell of rot, and gore, filled my nose which was almost enough to make me turn on my heel and get out. maybe it was just a gore pile some predator left out? Maybe a bear? a wolf? either way, it was stupid of me to go further in.

Admittedly, I was stupid.

Approaching the small camp, my blood froze at what I saw.

I saw what I believed to be, in fact, a gore pile. but it wasn't any type.

There laid the body of a young man, he didn't exactly know who, or at least, he couldn't recognize it. after all, the man's head was bashed in with what seemed to be a stomp, or something powerful enough to destroy a human skull. it was torn apart, intestines flowing out of his body as if it was torn out by claws.

one arm was disembodied and laying five feet away from him. what terrified him, was the way his tent was torn up. three claw marks, one that couldn't possibly be any animal he's seen before.

another thing was that the whole camp was completely flipped over like something was desperately trying to find something. blood wiped all over the soil ground, the tent, and even the trees nearby.

frozen in my tracks, I stared at the corpse, and nearly felt my heart drop, when realizing that-

the arm was gone, by the time he looked back.

stepping back, I moved my flashlight around, in my panic.

I saw what seemed like a blood trail. seemed like there was something dragged away.

I, being the stupid teenager I was, I walked with shaky knees, feeling as if they'd buckle at any second.

I grabbed a pocket knife of mine, just in case this was some sort of animal, and I had no choice but to fight.

but, nothing prepared him for what he heard.

in the very distance, I noticed the sound of clicking, ticking. nothing from that noise seemed natural. Nothing.

I looked around in the dark, and for a while, I believed I was just hallucinating- that this whole thing was just a bad dream or something. then, I found the source of the blood trail. stopping in my tracks, I felt my blood turn cold.

there laid an equally torn up body, half-eaten, and rotting. that was nothing, compared to what was crouching in front of it. a hairless creature, with arms longer than my legs, was munching on a piece of gore he tore off that man's body- or was it a woman? I honestly couldn't tell.

the creature, however, COULDN'T be human. it wasn't possible. it was malnourished, so much it's spine stuck out of his back, along with his arms, and even the hipbone was well stuck out like it was just skin and bones.

when it turned Towards me, it's the face- it's facing face, is something that gave me nightmares for the rest of my life. it had no ears, two holes that just sufficed for them. no eyes, just sockets that leaked with something that you could say was blood, except it was pitch black. and the mouth- covered in blood, the jaw was filled to the brim with razor-sharp teeth. by that, I mean, it WAS filled to the brim. even where the tongue was, there was tinier, thorn-like teeth.

it stood up on its feet and stood and incredible height of 8 feet even when it was slouched over. It let out a blood hurtling screened at sincerely give me nightmares. It slowly crouched on all force and on full speed it crowd in an inhuman kind of way with its head twisting and turning a 180 degree. Just as the creature was about to reach me, I woke up, in a cold sweat. Gasping out, and choking up for air. It was a dream, of course. But you no what's odd?that day I discovered that there was a missing couple that disappeared after they were last seen in the same forest I went to. What's even more odd, I found 3 clawmarks on my body. Bleeding claw marks, a bite mark, and something that seemed like pressure marks, supposedly caused by fingers.
